Graduate students are encouraged to participate in local, regional, national, and international professional meetings. Fortunately, we have been able to cover most travel expenses from research funds so students do not have to bear the cost out of pocket. Second-year MS and Ph.D. students generally present results of their research at GSA and/or AAPG meetings. Occasionally, course project results are of sufficiently high quality that they are also presented at meetings.
